Salina Area Technical College has been ranked ninth in the nation among two-year public colleges for its graduation rate.

The Chronicle of Higher Education, among other criteria, ranked the school ninth based on what portion of students graduate in three years.

Salina Tech’s three-year graduation rate is 65.1 percent, more than three times the national average of 20.5 percent for the 895 colleges in this category.

“This puts us in the top 1 percent nationally,” said Stephani Johns-Hine, vice president of instruction at Salina Tech, in a statement.
