More opportunities for nursing education soon will be available in Salina, thanks to programs being launched by Kansas Wesleyan University and Salina Area Technical College.
Salina Tech Monday announced plans to begin a one-year practical nursing program with a 40-student capacity beginning in the fall of 2018, to be followed by a two-year associate in nursing degree program in the fall of 2019. Both programs will require approval from the Kansas Board of Nursing before students can be accepted.
Beginning in January 2018, Kansas Wesleyan University will launch an online registered nurse to bachelor of science degree program. The program will allow nurses who already have an unencumbered registered nursing license to complete a bachelor’s degree with a major in nursing in one year.
