Salina Area Technical College is committed to the health and well-being of each student and employee; therefore, SATC is committed to creating a community that is free from acts of sexual violence. The Sexual Violence/Sexual Misconduct Policy complies with the Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972 and the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (section 304(a)(5) of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013, known as the “Campus SaVE Act.” Sexual violence includes any unwanted, unwelcome, forceful, or coercive sexual contact.

What is Title IX

U.S. Department of Education 

Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in all college programs and activities, including, but not limited to, admissions, recruiting, financial aid, academic programs, student services, discipline, class assignment, grading, and employment.

Sexual harassment and sexual violence are forms of sex discrimination prohibited by Title IX.  Title IX also prohibits retaliation against people for making or participating in complaints of sex discrimination.

How to File a Title IX Complaint

Any student or employee can file a complaint using Salina Tech’s online form located here. Complaints can be submitted online or delivered to the Vice President of Student Services either via mail or in person.

Salina Tech promptly and thoroughly investigates and resolves complaints alleging sex discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual violence, including sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and domestic violence.

If this is an emergency, and you’re on campus, call the VP of Student Services at 785-309-3120. If you are off-campus, call 911 for immediate assistance.
