CERTIFIED HOME HEALTH AIDE

This course is designed  to provide Certified Nurse Aides the skills necessary to provide safe and effective personal care assistance to an individual in the privacy of a home setting. The course consists of 20 clock hours of online or classroom instruction.

Prerequisite: Current Nurse Aide Certification; At least 8th grade reading level verified by placement test.

2 Credit Hour course.

YOU WILL LEARN

  • Provide health care services in patients residences
  • Perform domestic and household tasks
  • Transport and accompany patients to doctors office or to hospital
  • Work as a member of a health care team within scope of practice.

  • Monitor patients (vital signs, temperature, respiration, etc) and report on their condition
  • Maintain patients care records and document provided services
  • Understand nutrition and meal preparation
