CLEP Accomodations for Students with Disabilities:

If you have a learning or physical disability that would prevent you from taking a CLEP exam under standard conditions, you may request accommodations at your preferred test center. Contact your preferred test center well in advance of the test date to make the necessary arrangements and to find out its deadline for submission of documentation for approval of accommodations. SATC requires requests for accommodations two weeks prior to testing date.

Accommodations that can be arranged directly with test centers include:

  • ZoomText (screen magnification)
  • Modifiable screen colors
  • Use of a reader, a scribe, or a sign language intrepreter
  • Extended time
  • Untimed rest breaks

If the above accommodations do not meet your needs, contact CLEP Services for information about other nonstandard options at clep@info.collegeboard.org or at 800-257-9558 before you register through My Account.

DSST Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

Examinees requiring special accommodations will need to contact DSST at http://getcollegecredit/ prior to testing. In order to allow sufficient time for the review of each case and the arrangement of appropriate accommodations, the request with appropriate documention must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the desired test date. After the request and documentation are received, Prometric's ADA Committee will review the request. Prometric will make every effort to provide the necessary accommodations, within reason, in as timely a manner as possible. The candidate will be contacted in writing with a confirmation of approval or denial of the requested accommodation.

Entrance Placement Exams:

Salina Area Technical College provides College Board ACCUPLACER exams to assess student placement for core curriculum. Assessment exams are given in the areas of Reading, Pre-Algebra/Algebra, and Sentence Skills. The tests are free for student applicants and take approximately 1/2 hour (each) to complete. Assessment exams must be started at least 2 hours before the lab closing time. Applicants are encouraged to study for the placement exams before taking them.

SATC will also review entrance assessment scores administered by other institutions, if not more than three years old. Test scores need to be faxed to SATC Admissions - ATTN: Placement Scores at (785) 309-3101.

End of Program Assessments and Certifications:

WorkKeys Assessment
The Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information ACT WorkKeys assessments will be administered to December graduates in November, and to May graduates in January. The WorkKeys assessment is used to evaluate and analyze workplace skills. Skills measured by WorkKeys are transferrable skills that are necessary for most jobs.
If a student falls below the certificate level recommended by ACT, they will be given a chance to study, and retake the test(s) that caused them to go below their certificate level.
