Accuplacer, End of Program Assessments, Certifications, and Testing Services Offered to the Public

Testing Center Services Provided to the Public

ACCUPLACER Testing for Other Institutions:

The Testing Services Specialist will administer the ACCUPLACER test(s) to applicants of other colleges for a fee of $10.  Contact Shonell Edwards at 785-309-3136 or shonell.edwards@salinatech.edu to schedule a test.

Proctoring of Tests for Other Institutions:

The Testing Services Specialist will proctor tests for students who are taking on-line courses at other institutions.  There is a fee structure for this service depending on testing software and proctoring requirements.

Prometric Testing

SATC is a Satellite Testing center for Prometric Testing

ASE Testing

The ASE tests are administered by appointment.  Candidates need to call SATC, in advance, to schedule a testing time. In order to schedule an appointment, candidates need to have their ASE ID# and name of exam (example: Code: A1 Engine Repair ASE-0000-0000). PearsonVue Testing

SATC is a PearsonVueTesting Center.

PearsonVue Testing

PearsonVue is a testing company that administers professional testing for hundreds of industry certifications and many different test sponsors.Tests are administered by appointment. Candidates must schedule and pay for testing in advance through PearsonVue.

Please note, not ALL PearsonVue test are given at Salina Tech.

CLEP Testing

Accomodations for Students with Disabilities:

If you have a learning or physical disability that would prevent you from taking a CLEP exam under standard conditions, you may request accommodations at your preferred test center. Contact your preferred test center well in advance of the test date to make the necessary arrangements and to find out its deadline for submission of documentation for approval of accommodations. SATC requires requests for accommodations two weeks prior to testing date.

Accommodations that can be arranged directly with test centers include:

ZoomText (screen magnification)
Modifiable screen colors
Use of a reader, a scribe, or a sign language intrepreter
Extended time
Untimed rest breaks

DSST Testing

Accommodations for Students with Disabilities

Examinees requiring special accommodations will need to contact DSST at http://getcollegecredit/ prior to testing.

In order to allow sufficient time for the review of each case and the arrangement of appropriate accommodations, the request with appropriate documention must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the desired test date. After the request and documentation are received, Prometric's ADA Committee will review the request. Prometric will make every effort to provide the necessary accommodations, within reason, in as timely a manner as possible. The candidate will be contacted in writing with a confirmation of approval or denial of the requested accommodation.

End of Program and Course Assessments and Certifications

WorkKeys Assessment
The Mathematics, Workplace Documents, and Graphic Literacy ACT WorkKeys assessments are administered to graduates of Salina Tech programs.The WorkKeys assessment is used to evaluate and analyze workplace skills. Skills measured by WorkKeys are transferrable skills that are necessary for most jobs. Salina Tech is also a WorkKeys testing site for the KansasWorksCenter in Salina, Kansas. To schedule a test(s), contact Kansas Works at 785-827-0385.

KBOR (Kansas Board of Regents) suggested or Industry Required Credential/Licensure Testing are given to students based on program or course requriments. Please inquire about specific program or course certifications by calling the Learning Resources Center at 785-309-3111.
