Each technical program assesses technical, communication, and critical thinking skills using a variety of instructional strategies, including tests, projects, quizzes, homework, hands-on demonstrations, etc. Student mastery of these skills is documented in the competency profile. Competency profiles are stored in the registrar’s office.

What were the end of year results?
Any other “indirect” measures of student learning? Graduate and job placement data? Student survey data? NOCTI scores? % of students meeting graduation requirements? |
- 98% of the graduating students completed the competencies with a 2 or above.
- All graduating students completed the NOCTI performance and written test.
- Of the spring 2010 graduates, 50% full-time are employed in the field, 1 part-time is employed in the field, and 40% are still interviewing for jobs in the field.
- Two spring graduates are leaving officer positions with SGA this year.

What changes need to be made in teaching or the curriculum?

- 16 week line schedule
- Restructuring line schedule for delivery will allow for total update on curriculum
- Adding 3 textbooks to the program
- Starting a yearly review of 4 courses to update the competencies
- Become more comfortable with the software upgrades
