Assessment Committee
Minutes

Members absent: Jim Lytle, Janet Fisher
- Eric moved and Jeramie seconded approval of the minutes from the last meeting. Motioned carried.
- Trish discussed the fact that there are several instructors who have not finished the new “Follow Up” section of the Assessment Plan, and asked that fellow Committee members encourage them to document the results.
- Trish also mentioned that even though e-mails had been sent out asking that instructors stay up-to-date on the competencies, no one appeared to be doing it. Again, she asked for help from the Committee.
- Trish informed the Committee that the fact that Work Place Skills were no longer on the competencies appeared to be an issue with the Board. She presented a list of Work Place Skills and suggested that we add them to the competencies of all programs. Jeramie felt that as far as his program was concerned, some of them were already embedded in one of his courses. After discussion, it was felt that if this was true for some programs, it was better to have them on twice rather than not at all. The competencies can be adjusted at a later date. Susan motioned that the Committee approve the Work Place Skills be added to the competencies. Eric seconded. Motion carried.
- Susan took Janice Ramsey’s place on the Committee at a time when part of the Assessment Plan documentation was used for a government report. This documentation is no longer needed. The Committee felt that Susan’s time might better be spent on committees that involve Financial Aid. She agreed. Susan resigned and the Committee thanked her for all of her help. The Committee felt that Susan should be replaced by an instructor. Jeramie made a motion to invite Ryan Weber to join the Committee. Eric seconded. Motion carried.
